CREATE THE FUTURE

Build the Foundations of Modern AI

Deep learning powers everything from ChatGPT to self-driving cars, but very few people actually understand how it works.

In this course, you’ll learn what’s happening inside neural networks, how machines learn from data, and why deep learning can solve problems humans can’t. You’ll build models, experiment with real data, and think like an AI engineer, not just an app user.

Dr. Pete Husemeyer

Chief Innovation Officer + Co-Founder, Sportable

Pete is passionate about sports, technology and engineering. Before co-founding Sportable in 2016, Pete completed engineering degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Computational Mechanics and Nuclear Engineering, including a PhD in Space Nuclear Engineering from Cambridge University. While at Cambridge, Pete spent four years working for NASA Marshall Space Flight Centre and the Centre for Space Nuclear Research based at Idaho National Labs. He now applies his passion for sports and problem-solving as Chief Innovation Officer and member of the board for Sportable.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who is this course for?

This course is for teens who are curious about how AI really works, not just how to use it. If you enjoy maths, problem-solving, technology, or understanding systems, this course is for you.

  • Do I need prior coding experience?

No. You don’t need to be a programmer to start. Concepts are explained clearly, and the additional coding resources challenges are optional to this course.

  • What tools do I need to participate?

You will need a good internet connection and a laptop/PC.

  • What will I actually learn?

    You’ll learn:
    How neural networks work
    What a Multi-Layer Perceptron is
    Why activation functions matter
How models learn patterns from data
Why deep learning can model complex real-world systems
